What happens when ray of light strikes normally on a prism surface.

When light enters normally, it passes out through the same route but When a ray of white light enters the prism(through any angle except 0° from normal) , it splits into 7 different colours as those of a rainbow. Whenever a light changes a medium with different density then, it bends and deviates into a different path. Similarly when white light enters prism it has to bend, and because it is composed of 7 different colours which have different tendency to bend, they are visible in their original form when they terminate through another part of prism.
