What happens when sodium oxide reacts with water and how will this solution behave to red litmus paper

When sodium oxide reacts with water , it liberates hydrogen and forms sodium hydroxide which is a base.........
The hydrogen liberated is expelled out and we r left with sodium hydroxide solution....
Litmus paper turns red to blue.....
