the flame becomes sooty and yellow and it make the utensil black.

During incomplete combustion-

1. A part of the unburnt carbon and passes into the atmosphere in the form of soot. This not only wastes the fuel but also pollutes the atmosphere.

2. Carbon monoxide is formed. This gas is highly poisonous and causes respiratory problems; it may also prove to be fatal.
