Answer: Both the brain and the spinal cord is involved

Explanation: When we get hurt the nervous system informs the brain to get away from the thing that is hurting you

The brain and spinal cord both are involved in this reaction but my support is for both.

  • When we are pricked by a cactus, the sensory neurons are activated immediately.
  • They take the message to the brain or spinal cord.
  • The massage given by the brain or spinal cord is brought back by the motor neuron.
  • The motor neuron carries the message to the hand muscles. We immediately pull our hands away from the cactus.
