CuSO4 solution has a blue colour while ZnSO4 solution is colourless. Zn(s) + CuSO4(aq) -> Cu(s) + ZnSO4 (aq). When zinc and copper sulphate react in the aqueous state, a simple displacement reaction will take place in which the zinc will displace the copper from the copper sulphate to form zinc sulphate

Explanation:
In this reaction zinc displace copper from copper sulphate compound so that copper is set free . The blue colour of copper sulphate solution fades due to the formation of zinc sulphate which is colourless....This displacement reaction take place because zinc is more reactive than copper .
