You wouldn't have been able to ask this question if not for computer technology.

Advancements in computer technology have had a mammoth effect on our means of communication. We would've had no email, no IMs, no Skype, and no Quora! Social networking platforms like Facebook and Twitter wouldn't exist.

You wouldn't be able to share a picture of your meal with the world instantaneously on Instagram. Heck, you wouldn't even have a smartphone!

Written communication would be through slow, unreliable post. Video calls would be science fiction, and social networking would mean hanging out with real people.

Yes, computer technology has had an enormous impact on the way we communicate.
