Candles and moon have been called liars because in their dim light the woman is not able to see her true reflection. Mirror, on the other hand, reflects a true reflection of her. He shows the signs of old age surfacing on the complexion of the woman. This upsets her. For temporary relief she turns to those liars, candles and moon. However, she cannot live without the mirror as she herself trusts her reflection in the mirror.
