Given  : Points

Line Drawn

To Find : number of points  required to draw a line

Solution:

number of points  required to draw a line are two

If we have two point , line can be drawn

Equation of line passing through two points

(x₁ , y₁) , (x₂ , y₂)  is given by

y - y₁  = {( y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁)} ( x - x₁)

or

y - y₂  = {( y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁)} ( x - x₂)

Hence Two points are required to draw a line.

If only one point is given then infinite number of lines can be drawn.

If more then two pints are given they must be collinear to draw a line , other wise no straight line can be drawn.

Hence Two points are required to draw a line
