The Government of India has taken several steps to increase the agricultural production in India. Some of the measures are as follows:
NABARD- Government of India had set up the National bank for Agricultural and Rural Development to give a boost to the agricultural credit. Banks provide term finance to farmers for development purposes and short term loans for production purposes.
Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute – This body conducts experiments to develop new techniques, analysis of data in agriculture is done, and it specializes in statistical techniques for animal and plant breeding.
Farmers Commission- has been established by the government of India to evaluate all the previous and present policies of the Government concerning agricultural production.
Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP) - this policy had been introduced from 1996 for extending assistance for the completion of incomplete irrigation schemes.
