The cactus is adapted in the following ways :


➡ The cactus contains spines throughout its body.

➡ The spines present in the cactus reduces the speed of air on the surface of the cactus.

➡ This particularly helps in the conservation of water because transpiration is greatly reduced.

➡ The cactus have spines which also help in the storage of water .

➡ The cacti also have leaves which are thick and fleshy.

➡This also helps in storing and conserving water .

➡They have reduced surface area in the leaves and hence the evaporation in the form of transpiration is reduced.
