they are continuous curved lines that originate at north pole and end at the South pole of magnets. They never intersect each other( for the simple reason that if they intersect , the point of intersection would experience magnetic force in two directions which is impossible). Their density is higher in stronger magnets and less dense in weaker magnets. For a given magnet their density is highest at both poles and decreases as we move away from poles.
