"Chloralkali process:

Chloralkali process can be defined as the process of manufacturing of sodium hydroxide from the aqueous solution of sodium chloride. It is the "electrolysis" of a saturated aqueous solution of sodium chloride (NaCl) that forms sodium hydroxide (NaOH) with hydrogen gas (H_2) and chlorine (Cl_2) gas.

The "balanced chemical equation" involved in the Chloralkali process is given below,

\begin{matrix} 2NaCl(aq)\quad +\quad 2{ H }_{ 2 }O(l) \\ Reactants \end{matrix}\quad \longrightarrow \quad \begin{matrix} 2NaOH(aq)\quad +\quad { H }_{ 2 }(g)+{ Cl }_{ 2 }(g) \\ Products \end{matrix}                             "
