Because gravity is the one which keep us on the surface of earth
If there was no gravity all the things would be flying in air.

Answer: If newton didn't discover gravity then some other scientist may have discovered. If he didn't discover also we might not be flying . But ....... With the help of gravity only all the things are standing in a place , or else all would be flying.
