The main reason for the downfall of the great Mughal empire is its intolerance towards other religions which is predominantly Hindus at the time of his rule.

Every one might be aware of Taimur the lame and for who does not know him, he was the person who is responsible for killing hundreds and thousands of Hindus and piled their skeletons into a heap. There are is only one reason for the downfall of the great Mughal empire and it is because of its intolerance towards other religions especially Hindus by living in a Hindu dominant society. By amending their norms and policies towards Hindus and giving tolerance and respect for their religion it could have sustained and doesn't get torn down into pieces.
