Given

The side of an equilateral triangle is 24 cm

To find:

The area of the equilateral triangle

Now,

Area of the equilateral triangle of side 24 cm is

= (√3/4) * (24)²

= (√3/4) * (576)

= (√3) * (144)

= 144√3 cm sq.

Hence,

The area of the equilateral triangle is 144√3 cm sq.

Also,

Solving it further,

By putting the value of √3 = 1.732

= 144 * 1.732

= 249.4 cm sq. is the area of the equilateral triangle.

About a triangle:

→ A polygon having three vertices, three lines.

→ It has there interior angles.

→ Angle sum property of a triangle is 180°. It means the sum of three angles of the triangle is 180°.

→ There are three types of a triangle -

  1. Scalene triangle - all three sides and angles are different.
  2. Isosceles triangle - two sides and two angles are equal.
  3. Equilateral triangle - All three sides are the same. All the angles are 60° each.

Here are some properties of an equilateral triangle:

  • All the sides of an equilateral triangle are equal in length.
  • All three angles in the equilateral triangle are 60°.
  • The perimeter of the equilateral triangle is the sum of all three sides or simple (3 * side) units.
  • The formula used to find the area of an equilateral triangle is √3/4 * (side)² units sq.
