the equation conveys that when an active metal reacts with an acid , it gives salt and produces hydrogen gas.

here the metals should lie above hydrogen in activity series so that it can displace hydrogen from the specific acid used.

wabangb: For both question a and b, do i need to write the above answers?
maria9: yes ....... because both have same conclusion
wabangb: Thank u
maria9: wlcm :)

Hi, Friend
In the 1st reaction of zinc with sulphuric acid zinc is metal and sulphuric acid is acid
In the 2nd one magnesium is metal and hydrochloric acid is acid
In the above reactions.we can conclude that when metal's react with acid they form salts and hydrogen gas is evolved
We can detect the presence of hydrogen by bringing burning matchstick above the test drive it creates a pop sound which tells presence of hydrogen gas
