The lost child thinks of his father as a strict person when he demands toys from him. He does not press his parents for sweets or garlands etc because he accepts that they will never grant him his wish.

Answer:

The child in the story is at first completely distracted by materialistic things that he sees around him. Though later on his mother tries to grab his attention by pointing out the mustard fields which were shining like gold. His parents had to repeatedly from time to time call out his name and ask him to hurry up so that he isn't left behind. After losing sight of his parents, the child is in a state of anxiousness and fear. He looks around worriedly for his parents but in vain. A man comes around to help him out and tries to cheer him up by showing him the things he first had wanted. But this time, he wasn't interested in them and the only thing he wanted was to reunite with his parents. This shows that no matter what we want in life, nothing is more important than our parents.
