Plants require magnesium from the soil to prepare chlorophyll.

These ions are absorbed by the plants through the roots.

If the plants are unable to absorb enough magnesium from the soil, it will affect the overall growth .

In fact the leaves of a plant which is deficient in magnesium will turn yellow.
