1) Virtual image refers to the image which forms when the light rays appear to meet at definite point, after reflection from the mirror.

An erect image is one that appears right-side up. An erect image is formed by the actual intersection of rays. It is an image in which directions are the same as those in the object.

2) A real image occurs where rays converge, whereas a virtual image occurs where rays only appear to diverge. Real images can be produced by concave mirrors and converging lenses, only if the object is placed further away from the mirror/lens than the focal point, and this real image is inverted.
