Since the number 3482 does not contain any decimals

So,

3482 will be rounded off to 3500 for 2 significant figures

Hope this helps !!!!!!!

To be precise, its easy to use scientific notation, so that 3,482 expressed in only 2 significant figures after rounding off will be 3.5 × 10³.

Now, when 3,482 is rounded to two significant figures, it  turns 3,500. One has to count 2 digits from left, and if the 3rd digit is 5 and above, round it off up to zero and add 1 to the second digit. The result will then be 3,500.

Hope it helps!
