Balanced chemical equation :

The chemical reaction in which atoms of an element are equal in both sides is called as balanced chemical reaction.

  • The atoms on an element should be equal to the both sides.
  • The chemical equation is written in the form of equations and symbols.

Why should chemical equation be balanced ?

When there are equal atoms to the both sides in the chemical equation then it is said to be balanced chemical equation.

But,

Where there is unbalanced chemical equation, there are not equal atoms to the both sides I. the chemical equation.

➥ Chemical equation should be balanced according to the law of conservation of mass.

➥ It should also obey the law of constant proportion.

Law of conservation of mass :-

The law of conservation of mass states that mass is neither be created and nor be destroyed.

Examples of a balanced chemical equation :

\quad \diamond \ \sf CH_4 \ + \ 2O_2 \ \longrightarrow \ CO_2 \ + \ 2H_2O

\quad \diamond \ \sf C_3H_8 \ + \ 5O_2 \ \longrightarrow \ 3CO_2 \ + \ 4H_2O

\quad \diamond \ \sf 2H_2 \ + \ O_2 \ \longrightarrow \ 2H_2O
