All living things are influenced by biotic factors in some way or the other. Biotic factors are living things that affect other living organisms in the ecosystem. They have more to do with how those parts of an ecosystem affect each other than any specific living or non-living thing itself. A biotic factor also needs energy and food for proper growth and work.

Example:

A deer or cattle eating grass influences the ecosystem as a biotic factor by affecting the amount of grass. These come under the category- consumers

Plants convert the energy through photosynthesis into food. These are producers.

Fungi and Bacteria break down chemicals from producers and consumers into forms that could be reused. They are called decomposers.
