What is a borosil beaker and why is it recommended in exothermic reactions experiment?

Borosil beaker is used in chemical experimens. Its recommended in exothermic reaction experiment because it has high resistance towards heat. So, the heat generated in exothermic reaction will not make the glass or the breaker brake
