Catalyst:- It is a substance which just helps reaction. It does not take part in a direct way in the reaction.

The following points may also help you:-

1. Catalyst will help in decreasing the time for gaining equilibrium state but it can't change state of any reversible reaction.

2. Usually all the catalyst which are found are specific by nature.

3. Rate of constant can be changed by the catalyst in the reaction.

4. In the mechanism of reaction catalyst play important role.

5. As we know enthalpy is a state function so it can't change enthalpy of any reaction.
