What is a conservative force? Why the work done by it on a particle moving in closed path is zero?

conservative force is the force that do not depend on the path its only depend on its initial and final position of the path.

The work done by it on a particle moving in closed path is zero because As conservative force is independent of path (it depends only on its final and initial position ) so displacement would be zero which results in zero work done in closed path .
