Fog: Droplets of water vapour suspended in the air near the ground. An atmosphere in which visibility is reduced because of a cloud of some substance. Non-pollutant.

Smoke: A hot vapour containing fine particles of carbon being produced by combustion. A cloud of fine particles suspended in a gas. Highly pollutant.
