that celestial body which have enough mass to control itself from gravity but which is far away from solar system is termed as dwarf planet .
example: Pluto
which was in solar system till 2009
now it is moving outside of solar system

ayushman5: more examples are like eres ceres .. more to now ?..

according to IAU ,a dwarf planet has the following criteria;
•It is in orbit around the sun.
•It is heavy enough to create its own gravity.
•It has not cleared the neighbourhood around its orbit,i.e.,it has not become gravitationally dominant &it shares its orbital space with other smaller bodies.
•It is not a satellite of a planet.
Pluto,which was considered to be a planet since its discovery in 1930,was reclassified as a 'dwarf planet'on 24 aug,2006 by the international astronomical Union (IAU)..
As of 2012,there were five known dwarf planets–Eris,Pluto,Haumea,Makemake,and Ceres
