When determining the volume of a sphere we use the formula 4/3πr^3.
Therefore, in order to find the volume of a hollow sphere, there must be subtraction of the volume of the hollow region from the volume of the overall sphere.
If for example, the radius of the overall sphere is r1 and for the hollowed region the radius is r2, then that would give us
4/3π×r1∧3 - 4/3π×r2∧3 which is simplified to:
4/3π×(r1³−r2³)
In the case where the hollow is non-spherical then you have to subtract the volume of the hollow region from the outer sphere
