frame of reference is nothing but a set of coordinates that can be used to determine positions and velocities of objects in that frame; different frames of reference move relative to one another. Simply put, when you are standing on the ground, that is your frame of reference.There are two types of observational reference frame: inertial and non-inertial. An inertial frame of reference is defined as one in which all laws of physics take on their simplest form. In special relativity these frames are related by Lorentz transformations, which are parametrized by rapidity.
