What is a litmus paper ? what is ot used for?

Litmus paper is used to test the pH of a liquid. pH refers to the acidity and/or alkalinity of a liquid. It is made from mixture of different dyes extracted from lichens applied to paper. Blue litmus paper turns red under acidicconditions and red litmus paper turns blue under basic or alkaline conditions
