What is a Manuscript ? Why were they not used widely ?

A Manuscript is any document written by hand or type written,as opposed to being mechanically printed or reproduced in some indirect or automated way.

manuscripts are not used widely now a days because for making the manuscript we need a lot of special materials ex quills and leaves
