Explanation:-

Neutralization Reaction:-

The reaction in which a strong acid and strong base react together to form a neutral compound known as salt and water is called neutralization reaction.

  • It is the type of double - displacement reaction.

In neutralization reaction the hydrogen ions of the acids neutralizes the hydroxyl ions of base to form water.

 H^+ + OH^- \rightarrow H_2O

The salt formed by neutralization reaction is neutral in nature.

  • They doesn't show any effect in lithmus paper.

Some examples of neutralization reaction are :-

 NaOH + HCl \rightarrow NaCl + H_2O

 KOH + H_2SO_4 \rightarrow Na_2SO_4 + H_2O
