A reaction that takes place when a base is mixed to acid to form salt and water and make it a neutral solution.(i.e. that now the solution is not acidic nor basic)
For ex -
HCl(aq) + KOH(aq) → H 2O(ℓ) + KCl(aq) ...
2 HCl(aq) + Mg(OH) 2(aq) → 2 H 2O(ℓ) + MgCl 2(aq) ...
