A parsec is a very complex idea. Basically it is used to measure the distances between any two objects beyond our solar system. ... A parsec is the distance at which oneastronomical unit subtends an angle of one arc second.

Their only relation is they are all measures of vast distance concieved by humans to measure space. The AU is by far the shortest used mainly for solar distances . The light year the most familiar and the parsec ends up being over 3 light years in distance.
