A planet is a heavenly body made up of matter that revolves around a particular star .

For example :

Mars is a planet which revolves around the Sun .

Note that a satellite revolves around a planet and a planet revolves around a Star.

A planet has to be of certain size so that it can be called a planet.

If it is too small ,it is called dwarf planet .

Currently there are 8 planets in the Solar System :

1. Mercury.

2. Venus.

3. Earth.

4. Mars.

5. Jupiter.

6. Saturn.

7. Neptune.

8. Uranus.
