A range of temperature is the extent of seasonal or diurnal variation in temperature.

The tropical land areas seem to experience the highest seasonal temperature ranges, that within the equatorial zone seem to be much higher than yearly variations.

A yearly temperature ranges in effect is particularly limited by influences due to being nearer to sea.

The places at higher latitude seem to have a greater range of temperature.
