Ray is Path of light which shows the propagation of Direction light....

We Represent Ray by using a line segment with Arrow head...

As per definition of Ray...Ray starts from the source and go endlessly in one direction....

For example...Sun is the Source from where we see the rays of light coming to earth...It starts from The source i.e, Sun and Reaches to Earth...

We use Ray diagrams to represent the Direction and path of light from where the light coming from...
