Anything available in our environment which can be used to satisfy our needs and is technologically accessble, economically feasible and culturally acceptable, can be termed as resource. Its characteristics are as follows:

(i) A resource is a source or supply from which benefit is produced.

(ii) Typically resources are materials, money, services, staff or other assets that are transformed to produce benefit and in the process may be consumed or made available.

Answer: A resource is a stock or supply of materials and other assets that can be drawn on by a person in order to function effectively.

Features: 1) All the resources which are available in the Earth provided by the nature, known as natural resources.e.g.land ,water ,air ,forest,etc.

2) We use these resources as our daily basis needs. Everytime we are using these resources in different ways. Such as oil which is used in our homes for burning i.e. kerosene,etc.

3) As we use biotic resources we have also used abiotic resources such as fossil fuels which includes coal, petroleum ,etc.

4) With the help of water we generate hydroelectricity, drinking water and also salt water is used to make salt, which is an essential component of our life.
