Draw field lines of the magnetic field through and round a current carrying solenoid. A magnetic field isproduced around the solenoid when, electric current is passed through it. The magnetic field pattern is shown in the figure below

A solenoid is defined as a coil consisting large number of circular turns insulated copper wire. Distance are bounded closely to form a cylinder.
The field lines around a current carrying solenoid are similar to that produced by a bar magnet this means that a current carrying solenoid behaves as having North pole and South pole.
