A thermistor, for thermal resistor, is a temperature sensitive resistor of which resistance changes with a change in the temperature.

[ Note : Thermistors are available in different shapes such as beads, discs and probes. The material is finely powdered, compressed to the desired shape and sintered. Thermistors have resistances in the range of a few megaohms, and operate over a range of - 200 °C to +1000 °C. High quality thermistor/ temperature probes have been manufactured with precision from 0.005 °C to 0.0001 °C. ]
