here is ua answer:

★A tuning fork is an acoustic resonator in the form of a two-pronged fork with the prongs formed from a U-shaped bar of elastic metal. It resonates at a specific constant pitch when set vibrating by striking it against a surface or with an object, and emits a pure musical tone once the high overtones fade out.

Hope it helps...!!♥

Heya!!

Tuning forks are U - shaped metal instruments which are used mostly by medical practitioners to assess a patient's hearing.

The device was first invented by John Shore in the year 1711.

The fork consists of a handle and two metal bars called the tines. When the tuning fork is hit with a rubber hammer, the tines begin to vibrate. The back and forth vibration of the tines produces disturbances of surrounding air molecules. This leads to the production of a not-so-high pitched sound which is audible to human ear

You might find a tuning fork in your educational institution's Physics Lab too.
