Acceleration: a vehicle's capacity to gain speed within a short time.

Velocity: the speed of something in a given direction.

Time period: A time period (denoted by 'T' ) is the time needed for one complete cycle of vibration to pass in a given point.

Acceleration is defined as the rate of change in velocity.

Its S.I unit is m/s².

Velocity is defined as the rate of displacement.

Its S.I unit is m/s

Time period is defined as the time taken for the total displacement

Its S.I unit is second.

Retardation is similar to acceleration but just different in direction.

Retardation is defined as the negative of acceleration.
