Acids-An acid is a substance that produces hydrogen ions in a water solution .It has ability to produce the science that gives acids their characteristics properties. When an acid dissolves in water h + ions interact with molecules to form S3 O + ions.

All acid test sour. The familiar, sour test of many foods is due to acid. However test neighbour should be used to test for the presence of acid. Some acid react strongly with certain metals eating away the metals are forming metallic compounds in hydrogen gas.

Examples-Nitric acid (HNO3), hydrochloric acid (HCI),acetic acid (CH3COOH), sulphuric acid(H2SO4).
