An acute disease is a short term disease and comes rapidly also accompanied by various symptoms.

A chronic disease lasts for a longer period of time. Usually a disease is called chronic if it lasts for more than three months.

Diseases which occur for a short period of time are termed as acute disease .. eg cold 

diseases which occur for a long period of time is termed as chronic disease .. it can cause even death .. eg cancer
