Algebra is one of the broad areas of mathematics, together with number theory, geometry and analysis. In its most general form, algebra is the study of mathematical symbols and the rules for manipulating these symbols; it is a unifying thread of almost all of mathematics.
Basic Algebra Formula's are:-
- a2 – b2 = (a – b)(a + b)
- (a+b)2 = a2 + 2ab + b. ...
- a2 + b2 = (a – b)2 + 2ab.
- (a – b)2 = a2 – 2ab + b. ...
- (a + b + c)2 = a2 + b2 + c2 + 2ab + 2ac + 2bc.
- (a – b – c)2 = a2 + b2 + c2 – 2ab – 2ac + 2bc.
- (a + b)3 = a3 + 3a2b + 3ab2 + b. .
- (a – b)3 = a3 – 3a2b + 3ab2 – b.
ORIGIN OF ALGEBRA:-
The word "algebra" is derived from the Arabic word الجبر al-jabr, and this comes from the treatise written in the year 830 by the medieval Persian mathematician, Muhammad ibn Mūsā al-Khwārizmī, whose Arabic title, Kitāb al-muḫtaṣar fī ḥisāb al-ğabr wa-l-muqābala, can be translated as The Compendious Book on Calculation
