An alloy is a mix of 2 or more metals to take advantage of the properties of all. Just about every item you can think of that is made of metal is an alloy.

For example, aluminum is almost never used in it’s pure form. It is often mixed with manganese, magnesium, and other metals to make it sufficiently strong to use.
