- Ammonium hydroxide is a solution of ammonia in water.
● Why the term is misleading -
- Ammonia when dissolved in water forms ammonium hydroxide which again dissociates to ammonium ion and hydroxyl ion.
NH3 + H20 <--> NH4OH <--> NH4+ + OH-
- All these entities exist at same time but we can't separate them. Therefore this term is misleading.
