An acid is a substance which gives hydrogen ion when dissociate in their aqueous solution is called an acids.

Ex:-HCl, H2SO4 etc..

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

It is Sour in taste.

It convert blue lithmus in to red.

It is mainly corrosive in nature.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

On the basis of sources acids are of two types :-

♣︎Organic acids

♣︎In organic or minerals acids.

On the basis of dilution acids are two types:-

♣︎Strong acid

♣︎weak acid

Note:- Acid in water dissociate to produce H+ ion since H+ ion is more reactive hence, it combines with water to give hydronium ion.

HCl+ H20=> H+ + Cl-

H+ + H2O => H3O+ ( hydronium ion)
