Basically an allegory is a kind of narration of the overall story where all the characters who form a part of that particular story represent certain things, actions, or themes and the overall actions are notified to the students by a person's mouthpiece who is usually narrating the story.

So the author writes the story in such a form as if it seems that someone is narrating about all settings, experiences and persons to others.

The story called "A tiger for Malgudi" written by R.K. Narayan, is an an allegory where there were discussions actually signifying the the period of colonization and their places that were colonized and how  people lived there under the colonizers under the impact of the people from the west.
