an alloy is a homogeneous mixture of a metal with another metal or a mixture of metal and non-metal. it is prepared by mixing various metals in the molten state and then cooling them in the room temperature. example of alloys brass, bronze, Steel etc.

alloys are made because pure metals do not generally have the properties of a good metals, but on being made alloy the properties of the metals improved and is then used for various purposes

It is made up of two or more chemical elements, of which at least one is a metal. An alloy has properties different from the metals it is made of. Most alloys are made by melting the metals, mixing them while they are liquid to form a solution, then leaving them to cool and turn solid again.
